If you have had Puerto Rico on your travel wish list and thought Irma and Maria made a visit unfeasible, think again. As a visitor you won’t have any issues enjoying the best of what these islands have to offer. I have spent a wonderful week in Isla Verde, Miramar and Old San Juan. In the process I have discovered new places and sipped the best coffee in Puerto Rico and according to some in the world. The best part about this visit is that one gets to have a great time while helping the island.
If you stay in tourist areas you won’t see much of the damage the storms caused, but don’t let this fool you, there is still a lot to be done. So much so that you might wonder how is it possible that an island that is part of the United States, populated by US Citizens could be in this situation.
Puerto Rico and other affected islands depend on the dollars visitors spend. Coming here now will allow you to help while having as a great a time as you would have had anyway.
