A few days ago, I was kicking myself because I had not booked an additional night using points. When I had checked, the Marriott Marquis had availability as did the Hyatt Centric Times Square . I was checking both hotels using the respective mobile apps.

Last, night I decided to check again, the results were the same on the mobile apps, however I was able to once again find availability via the regular website. The reason I did this was because, I had had a similar experience with Marriott some months ago. I was able to find cash and points availability on the website, but nothing on the mobile app.

Apps are amazingly convenient and might be better than computer access in most case scenarios, however if you don’t get what you might via mobile, take a moment and check the old fashion way. I did and I was able to book my desired room in less than a minute.
