Black Friday now starts way before Thanksgiving and ends who knows when! I took advantage of a couple of deals and then found time to enjoy a film I’ve had on my list for a while: Morris From America. There are 2 things related to travel that this film made think about: 1) travel has become so much more affordable since 2000! 2) one thing is to visit for a couple of days or a week, but moving to that place is a very different thing.
On top of flights prices dropping significantly, one can use points and miles to have an upgraded travel experience in Germany or any place in Europe without having to sell vital organs.
Visiting a city vs relocating is similar to dating vs getting married. I’m cognizant of the fact that when I visit a place the fact that everything is new to me has a big influence on my experience. When we visit we get to see the best of what that city or region has to offer, but if we moved, we might not necessarily have access to such amenities on a full time basis. One of the joys of travel is to find as many places as possible where we can come back again and again and still enjoy. Eventually, the novelty wears off, but there are many of places that only get better with every visit.
