Where I ate
I had lunch and dinner at Sobao which is on the first floor of the hotel. Sobao is a Puerto Rican version of Panera bread, but better.

My second evening, I had dinner at Cayo Caribe which is mainly a seafood restaurant with delicious mofongos and other local specialties.

My last morning in San Juan, I went to Blonda for breakfast and had perhaps the best breakfast I’ve ever had in Puerto Rico.

Where I stayed

The New AC Marriott San Juan
Since my trip was so last minute La Concha and the Marriott were completely booked. Overall, this hotel served its purpose and I did not miss any of the extras available at those other hotels. The staff in general was was excellent, especially Gisela, who made me feel so welcome. I got upgraded to the best available room, which was on the second floor.
My one-word description would be: slick or maybe modern or chic. This is a slick and modern hotel located near the beach and many of Condado’s great restaurants and nightlife. It’s as good as it gets as a business hotel, but I also saw many families having a great time.

After breakfast at Blonda, I quickly checked out of the hotel and headed to the San Juan airport. The regular security lines were the worst I had seen in a while. Thanks to TSA Pre-check, I was at the Avianca VIP Lounge in under 10 minutes. I was able to get some work done, before boarding.
